- in a sing-song voice: hello, how are you, weeknotes, sixty two?!
- been feeling emotional a lot at the minute, climate grief returning from war ("climate rage, get the hell out of here. climate grief, get back in here!") and all the other crises catching up with me maybe, but it doesn't really feel like a bad upswell in emotion?
- learning to love the rhythms of my own life is in full swing. i was looking at my vision board i made at the beginning of the year and other than some clarifying text i pretty much still felt everything i felt it was all still important and being worked towards and also still encouraging, which is unheard of in my history of making these lol. every day i am becoming more myself. ☺️
- cycling is improving slowly but surely, finally managed to start uphill and my current teacher thinks it will all be easier from here. we'll see!
- i'm much closer to finishing the script of the video essay i've been talking about a lot, i am trying to tighten the scope and not talk about subsea cables or the internet at all. i will get to subsea cables one day, i swear it!!! also have loads of ideas for essays to go after this one but forcing myself to work on one at a time, if i want to write something else it can't be another script or i will still be writing in three years time again!
- podcast ideas brewing, short form video ideas brewing. will i get around to any of them? who knows! i really wish more video and podcast people worked with the garage door up but i assume people won't watch what they have already read, and i find myself only sharing with other video creators now i am more sure i'm gonna finish. please weight in if you're a big sharer and a consistent (like, more than once every three years, unlike me lol) video maker? the short video is more to practice talking and get a bit less nervous and stiff, as i have probably said on one of these before.
- speaking of making video online, i wonder a lot how many people consider it a hobby, a fledgling career or a side hustle? i should make a poll somewhere i can make polls.
- by the next time we speak in a weeknote it will be august, so sharing next month's tarot! august's tarot card is a scary one (in my unqualified opinion) and it is DEATH. biddy tarot, linked, is telling me to chill out, but it can't tell me what to do. enough change has happened already!
- started a new sewing project, very slowly making a wrap dress with pockets. excited about the fabric! i'm using threadloop and really enjoying it, i will add a link to my profile to my contact page.
- eating custard donuts, cupcakes, strawberry fizzy lances and chilli + sour cream crisps. drinking aperol spritzes, lime cordial, elderflower cordial, and fizzy apple juice.
- i finished reading a self help book that was okay but i needed a lot more from, it was about ACT therapy, which i have been thinking about a lot as i am much better at commiting to things now, still not so great at accepting things as they are though... radical acceptance is meant to help you change more easily, paradoxically in my head, obviously in all the literature. let me know if you've squared that circle somehow?
- i might try and release my newsletter twice a month instead of once a month, we'll see how that goes.
