- hey! hi! hello!
- trying to not beat myself up for gaps with these, and to see them more as a nice-to-do rather than a should-do, but it's difficult for me. trying as ever not to be an all or nothing person, as that's how you get less weeknotes and less writing in general.
- speaking of writing, i have been trying to do more interstitial journalling for my day to day, mostly noting things down when i'm stuck or changing task. it helps a lot on the days i need it, and it's nice to be able to look back on. i'm unsure how to persuade myself to write more on less distractible days, though i have ideas. chiefly more freewriting, more casual blogging like this, and more noting down thoughts about what i've read and consumed recently. maybe some of that will make it here?
- i have far too many partially started books at the minute so am going to get into the habit of only telling youse about books i've finished!
- at the moment i am filled to the brim with ennui. partly due to AI, partly due to not really knowing what i want out of my life. i have a good therapist and feel in a much better mental health place than i have most of my life, so i'm not worried about it in an acute way. just a background worry.
- i've really been enjoying newsletters at the moment: perfect sentences; the imperfectionist; the creative independent; web curios and people & blogs come to mind straight away.
- i coming off substack again after a grand total of two newsletters lol, but yeah, it felt a bit too morally dissonant for me personally to be on there. will attempt to change all my links and things once my brain is free of small sick (a cold).
- i've been eating ginger cake, salted crisps, and a lot of soup and soup adjacent things as i'm ill again, and despite my disdain for soup it serves a purpose! i've been drinking a lot of rooibos tea, and winter spiced hot cordial. this week i listened to the same playlist over and over, and no new album. the playlist is my birthday one so it will be finalised next month lol. since i use qobuz now i'll also share it with youtube.
